Our accrediting agency asks CIAS high school students to be proactive in the planning of your future as you near the end of high school.  Consequently, it is important that you complete and submit these "Senior Expectations" by the time that you graduate.

NEW FOR 2023-24!

CIAS is offering classes for the seniors to help guide you through the Senior Expectation assessments and tasks!

 

Mrs. Karen Brodeur and CIAS administration will be teaching a "Career Exploration & Decision Making" class, to be held on the first Friday of the month, starting in September. Dates and topics are posted in the class' Google Classroom. Join in to receive 1/2 credit and to complete all the Senior Expectations throughout the year.

DUE DATES

The Senior Expectations are due at different times of the year. Submit the "expectation    assignments" that are listed for the school year in the order that they are listed. Submit them to the school office at nogratrjoy@christianinstitute.comThank you all for your compliance!

SENIOR EXPECTATIONS

#1: Myers Briggs Personality Typing

Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers’ typology

There are several different Personality Type lists, one is based on a list of 16, while there are multiple lists of four character traits. Choose one of these to help you determine what your Personality type is, print, and submit.

#2: FFAA

Go to the FFAA website (Florida Financial Aid Application) http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/

This application opened up the first week December. If you are going to apply for Florida state grants or scholarships, please fill out the FFAA. If you know that you will not qualify for the Bright Futures Scholarship and do not want to be evaluated for it, please click that button and resubmit your FFAA. Print and submit.

 

#3: FAFSA

Start filling out the FAFSA for the 2020-2021 school year: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa

Click "YES" when it asks you if you want to provide your parents' info. You will need to answer questions regarding your parents' 2020 finances/taxes, so have that handy. You have 72 days to begin and finish the FAFSA before it will reset; "Save" as you go along.

#8: Senior Research Essay

Minimum/Maximum: 1200-1500 words

Format: MLA or APA

Use: primary & secondary sources of info for research

Include in-text citations for footnotes, bibliography/Works Cites/References page
